Outdoor Chairs Are BACK IN STOCK!

Product Care & Maintenance

Cottage Stuff products are built for real outdoor use, but proper care will help keep them looking their best for years to come. Below are simple care tips for our dock ladders, cottage chairs, and smokeless fire pits.

Dock Ladders

Cleaning

Clean with mild soap and water as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads that may scratch the surface.

Saltwater Care

Aluminum is naturally corrosion resistant, but saltwater and harsh conditions can cause wear over time. If used in saltwater, rinse the ladder with fresh water after use to help reduce salt buildup.

Storage

During the off season or when not in use for long periods, store the ladder in a dry, protected area to help keep it in its best condition.

Inspection

Check hardware occasionally and tighten as needed. If any part becomes damaged or worn, stop using the ladder and contact us for support.

Cottage Chairs

Cleaning

Clean with mild soap and water as needed. For tougher marks, use a non abrasive cleaner and rinse with clean water.

Sun Exposure & Storage

The Flux is made from UV protected HDPE and built for outdoor use. Like any outdoor product, extended exposure to harsh sunlight, extreme heat, extreme cold, or excessive moisture can affect appearance and performance over time.

For long periods of non use, we recommend covering the chair or storing it in a cool, dry, shaded area to help keep it looking its best.

Maintenance

The Flux is designed to be low maintenance. No painting, staining, or sealing is required.

Inspection

Check hardware occasionally and tighten as needed. If any part becomes damaged or worn, stop using the chair and contact us for support.

Smokeless Fire Pits

Cleaning

Allow the fire pit to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe away ash, soot, and residue as needed using a soft cloth or sponge. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and water.

Rust Prevention

Stainless steel is rust resistant, but not rust proof. To keep The Pit looking its best, clean off dirt, water spots, and residue regularly, especially after exposure to rain, humidity, or harsh outdoor conditions.

Protecting The Finish

Over time, heat and outdoor exposure may naturally change the colour and finish of stainless steel. This is normal with regular fire pit use. A stainless steel cleaner or polish can be used when needed to help maintain the surface.

Storage

When not in use for long periods, cover the fire pit or store it in a dry, protected area to help reduce exposure to moisture and dirt.

Safety Checks

Before use, check that the fire pit is stable and in good condition. If you notice any loose, damaged, or worn components, stop using the fire pit and contact us for support.
